What Necklaces are Acceptable?

Q: Dear Dr Style-
What would you classify as acceptable neck ware (necklaces) for guys? I see everything from gold chains to leather straps. My girlfriend bought me a necklace, but I find it too girly. What is a fair compromise? -Tony- New York, NY

A: When it comes to necklaces this season, less is more. If you're going to wear one, it should be loose fitting and minimal. And no, not a so-cool-in-2006 dog tag. The length should be so that its barely visible when wearing a button down shirt but not so long that it's tickling your navel. The key is that it should just slightly accent your attire. That being said, the best thing to wear around your neck this season is a slim tie.
